Halloween with cousins!
(GIDEON, ETHAN, SORIAH, LYDIA in front, TEANCUM, and MAYLYNN)
Teancum, Gideon and Maylynn had a fun night out with their cousins Soriah, Ethan, Lydia. The boys had fun being cowboys and Maylynn walked around in her mother-made "ho-down" western dress. Mom had fun experimenting and developing her sewing talent. They all went trick-or-treating at Grandma Higley's, Grandma Lee's and Grandma Langkilde's houses. They came back home pretty tuckered out!

Dinner time with Teancum
This week has been dinner comedy hour with Teancum for two main reasons. A few days ago everyone had finished their dinner and gotten down from the table except for Teancum. Dave told Teancum it was time to get down and get pajamas on. Well, seeing that Teancum hadn't even started eating his food, I informed Dave "Teancum hasn't even touched his food." Without missing a beat, Teancum put out his hand, touched his food and said affirmatively, "Yes, I touched my food."
Then tonight after preparing for a nice Sunday meal with an almond, strawberry green salad and pot roast stew, we all sat down to eat. Not even two minutes into the meal Teancum got out of his chair and went to the fridge and opened it. We couldn't see what he was doing so I called out "Teancum, what are you doing?" In reply he answered "I'm looking for something good to eat." Dave and I couldn't hold back the laughter. When he did come back to the table he brought some salad dressing with him and asked "Is this good?"
There never seems to be a dull dinner hour at our house. It's just like having our own comedy dinner theater!

It's Summer time and the pigs...opps, I mean the kids are out!
Last week Dave and I were watering our newly added grass and trees when the boys decided to have some fun in the water. They simply began by making a trail around the trampoline and then underneath the trampoline where the excess water was running off into the dirt. Now for those mathematicians out there...what do you get when you mix dirt and water? Yup MUD and that's just what our boys found out too. A whole lot of water in one area becomes a mud puddle which if stepped in repeatedly turns into a mud bath! And that's just what happened. Here are some pictures of their adventure!

Who's hair is it anyway?
Dave and I went out on a date this last week and had Hannah(Dave's youngest sister) watch our kids. When we got home it was quite late so we went to sleep after walking Hannah home(next door). The following morning I found pieces of brown hair about 3 inches long scattered on the floor by the kitchen garbage. As I threw them in the garbage I couldn't figure out why Hannah would cut her hair and not put the pieces in the garbage... It was a mystery to me. Later as I was feeding Maylynn her cereal, I found bits of hair on her clothes(thinking she must have crawled or rolled all over the floor)and some hair hanging in her eyes. As I ran my fingers through her hair, I realize that HER hair was coming out in clumps into my hand.A Nightmare for any mom right... well the funny ending is that Teancum found some scissors and decided to test out his barbering skills on Maylynn. Thankfully he didn't cut it too short and that Maylynn has quite a bit of hair to make it inconspicuous. So, Hannah, sorry for thinking it was you all along, but you have to admit, your hair and Maylynn's is very similar in color, anyone could have made the same assumption!

Higley Town Hero Family
After nine blissful months of marriage, Marcene became expecting with Teancum(their first son). Teancum was born in September of 2004. He was the twinkle of their eye and a treasure beyond measure. David and Marcene loved Teancum so much they decided to have a little companion for Teancum. So exactly fourteen months after Teacnum was born, Gideon joined the Higley Family. Two beautiful boys and who could ask for more??? Well David and Marcene did. Maylynn was their next angel-baby sent from heaven. So Teancum, Gideon and Maylynn joined forces with David and Marcene who make up this happy family. There is always plenty going on at their home, you can imagine, with a 2 and 3 year old running around and little Maylynn crawling fast behind them, nothing slows these Higley heroes down(except maybe a temporary frown)!
Getting Dave's attention!
On that fateful Monday evening(January 21, 2003), David Higley and Marcene Langkilde happened to be attending the same singles family home evening activity. Games were the main event that evening, or so everyone else thought. But once Marcene saw that dashing young man by the door, there had to be more! So after a game of cards, Marcene got his attention by "dropping" the deck on Dave! It was a night they both will never forget. He was captivated at first sight, and her heart was taken. However, phone numbers were not exchanged and future dates were not discussed. However, later that week Marcene was set up on a mystery blind date, and guess who was her date??? Yup, you guessed it, none other than that dashing young man named Dave. Nights and weekdays were spent in the company of each other. Not wanting to waste any time, Dave unofficially proposed after their first kiss at the park. Plans were set in motion and a wedding date was set for April 17, 2003. Thus, the Higley Town Heroes came to be or was it a family?
